Thanks to Steve Palmer for providing the following information after his recent trip to Essen

THE GEORG MELCHES STADION - ROT WEISS ESSEN - 25,250 CAPACITY

Don't get a train there as it’s a pain in the arse to get to the ground.

Take a train to Duisburg and then take the S-bahn S2 metro to Essen-Bergeborbeck. Its only 4 stops.

If you decide to go to Essen instead take the U-bahn train to Essen west (I think that is the stop) and change onto the S-bahn S2 line for 1 stop.

Or you can take the 101 tram from the main train station that goes near the Essen-Bergeborbeck station.

From there you must be blind if you can't see the ground! Only 300 yards away.

Cost of match ticket is €10 but you can walk round the ground when you get in (except the away section).

Not many bars by the ground but don’t worry like most German grounds they do a nice pint inside the ground.
